Bailong Elevator rises against the sandstone cliffs and compresses a large elevation change into a very short ride; the main time cost is often queueing and transfers.

For foreign visitors, the useful plan is not only what to see but which entrance, identity document, transport connection and exit make the visit work. Save “百龙天梯” in Chinese before leaving your hotel.

Quick answer

Use Bailong Elevator as transport between the valley and Yuanjiajie, not as a standalone attraction. Ride early or in the less congested direction and keep a bus or cableway backup.

Tickets, reservations and passport checks for Bailong Elevator

Confirm a one-way or round-trip elevator product separately from park admission. Operating and crowd controls can change during weather or peak periods.

Check the official channel for your exact date and choose passport as the identity type when real-name booking is required. Keep the confirmation, admission window and entrance instructions available offline.

The glass elevator ride is brief and interior positions vary. Do not pay a large premium solely for an assumed uninterrupted view.

A practical route through Bailong Elevator

  • Take the correct scenic bus to the lower elevator station.
  • Complete ticket and queue checks before joining the final boarding line.
  • Board according to staff direction and keep doors clear.
  • At the upper station, follow signs to the Yuanjiajie bus hub.
  • Do not descend again unless it supports the day’s route.

How to fit Bailong Elevator into a Zhangjiajie itinerary

Bailong Elevator is most useful at the start or end of a Yuanjiajie route and can connect with Golden Whip Stream near Shui Rao Si Men.

Early morning and late afternoon can be more efficient, but final service times matter. Peak queues can exceed the actual visit time many times over.

Keep a workable backup

  • Use Tianzi cableway or another signed route when elevator queues are extreme.
  • Reorder Yuanjiajie and valley sections.
  • Do not miss the final scenic buses while waiting for a ride.
  • Walk only official stair routes when open and appropriate.

Frequently asked questions

Is Bailong Elevator included in the Zhangjiajie park ticket?

Usually it is a separate internal transport charge. Check the current official product before assuming it is included.

Can foreign visitors enter Bailong Elevator with a passport?

Major Zhangjiajie attractions generally support valid foreign passports, but the sales channel and gate workflow vary. Bring the original passport used for any real-name booking.

How much time should I allow for Bailong Elevator?

Plan about 1–2 hours including queues, plus transport, security and queues. Mountain, river and outlying attractions need extra buffer for weather and internal transfers.
