Zhangjiajie transport has three layers: downtown connections, road transfers to Wulingyuan and the scenic-bus network inside the national park.
Most failures come from selecting the wrong gate or assuming a scenic shuttle leaves the ticketed area. Save the Chinese hotel and entrance name before every journey.

Use intercity or tourist buses for downtown–Wulingyuan transfers, scenic buses only inside the park, and DiDi or official taxis for awkward hotel and airport connections. There is no city metro.

- Use buses between downtown Zhangjiajie and Wulingyuan when schedules fit.
- Use park scenic buses only after entering the ticketed Wulingyuan area.
- Use DiDi or official taxis for airport, late arrivals and hotels away from bus stops.
- Confirm Zhangjiajie West station, central bus station and airport as separate destinations.
How to avoid a failed DiDi pickup
- Choose a named gate, hotel lobby or legal roadside pickup rather than dropping a pin in a complex.
- Send a screenshot of the vehicle plate and driver message when communication is unclear.
- Stand on the correct side of divided roads and do not cross traffic after the driver arrives.
- Keep a metro or official taxi backup when demand, weather or road controls delay the car.
