Airport arrival is easier when the transport choice is made before landing. Save the hotel’s Chinese name, full address, phone number and a screenshot of the entrance or pickup instructions.
Ignore unsolicited drivers inside the terminal. Follow signs for the official taxi rank, rail connection or app-based pickup area, and confirm the exact terminal before requesting a car.

Chengdu airport options compared
- Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU): Metro, airport bus, taxi or DiDi. It is far southeast of central Chengdu; allow substantial time and confirm the last metro.
- Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU): Metro, railway, taxi or DiDi. It is closer to the city but not every flight uses it; verify the airport code.
Taxi and DiDi pickup details
- Use the signed official taxi queue and keep the printed or digital receipt.
- For DiDi, select the correct terminal, floor, door and designated ride-hailing zone.
- Send the hotel name in Chinese and compare the destination pin before the car moves.

Plan for late-night arrivals
Last rail departures may be earlier than the airport’s final flights. Check the schedule for your actual arrival date and keep enough time for immigration, baggage and the walk to the station.
